India may not always have had a populace of over a billion people, yet the subcontinent has always been home to lots of religions, ethnic cultures and empires, so there is far more than one story below of LGBTQ+ legal rights and acknowledgment. Generally, though, India was traditionally tolerant of LGBTQ+ connections, with the exception of the pred
